Issue Areas and Formats
Gun Violence and the United Methodist Church
The United Methodist Church sees gun violence as an epidemic that must be addressed both in the church and in society. The board of Church and Society calls all United Methodists to action.
Fighting Gun Violence
Gun Control Groups
These groups, below, have stories about experiences of gun violence, information about current legislation in process at both the national and state levels, and of course, options for making donations and joining the groups. Some also offer speakers.
Mass Shooting Across the US
There were more mass shootings across the U.S. in 2019 than there were days in the year, according to a gun violence research group. 2019 had the highest number of mass shootings in any year since the research group Gun Violence Archive started keeping track.
